INCLUSION training was held in Armenia

Two-day training was held in Armenia. Hosted by AUA INCLUSION consortium members gathered to
discuss the activities conducted since the Kick-off meeting in December 2016. Those activities mainly
refer to the fact-findings and literature review conducted by the consortium AM and BiH Partenrs.
Armenian and BiH partners briefly presented their perspectives on inclusion and fact-finding results.
Short reports followed by UNISON and SMOC reflecting on the literature review and main challenges
on inclusion in the respective countries.
Students from both countries have opportunities to reflect and present their ideas on the issues of
inclusiveness. They emphasized the needs at their home institutions and proposed solutions to the
HEIs to support the students from the underrepresented groups. Their contribution was highly
appreciated and they got certificates from the host and coordinating institutions.
The second day of the meeting was mainly focused on the presentation of the good practice and tools
on developing social dimension strategies in higher education. The workshop in the form of World Café
helped both the facilitators and the participants to discuss and present ideas for further developments.
Next, WP2 and WP5 were presented by the lead partners – UoR and WUS. The major activities and
further steps were outlined.
The final phase of the meeting was devoted to the Coordination meeting with involvement of all
parties. Issues like purchase of equipment, financial and technical aspects were presented and
discussed among the participants. The project web-site was officially demonstrated.
The consortium sent its gratitude to the hosting institution and is getting ready for the upcoming event
in UCLL, Belgium for the workshop.

SITE-VISITS were conducted at BiH and AM HEIs by EU partners

EU partner institutions visited Armenian and BiH higher education institutions to discuss the results of
the surveys and summarize the fact-finding at HEIs. Different meetings with staff and students were
conducted at each of HEI. Short reports were prepared and presented that will be embedded in the
reports on the fact-findings for the WP after the training in June, 2017.

A consolidated project team was established at each HEI to conduct the fact-finding and data analyses. For this purpose the lead partner of the WP – WUS
with support of EU partners developed a fact-finding tool kit (both the methodology and the tools) to be piloted at 4 partner AM and BiH HEIs. The pilot
was conducted among the university staff members, faculty and students and the data are ready for further analyses. Before the final reports are prepared
the site-visits to HEIs are to be conducted by the EU partners and training on designing and implementing the social dimension strategy on the fact-finding
results is to be held.

INCLUSION management team conducted local meeting on financial and technical issues

The first local meeting on the project financial and technical issues was conducted in Yerevan with involvement of all Armenian partners. The management
team presented the major issues on overall management highlighting the important aspects for the financial, technical and operational management. The
presentation along with the templates and required materials as disseminated among the AM partners during the meeting and submitted to all BiH and EU
partners. The detailed coordination meeting will be conducted during the first training in June in Yerevan with involvement of all partners.

YSAFA is the Coordinator of a new Erasmus+ Inclusion project

Yerevan State Academy of Fine Arts is coordinating the new Erasmus+ Inclusion project.
INCLUSION is a 3 year project which aims to enhance the capacity of stakeholders on the field of higher education in Armenia and BiH in contributing to the
implementation of social dimension (SD) strategies through capitalizing on knowledge transfer and cross-regional cooperation.
Principle outputs and outcomes of the project include national level guidelines on development and operationalization of SD strategies; institutional level
master plans and mechanisms to implement SD strategies; capacity building of HEIs and respective government authorities for the operationalization of
SD strategies; development of resources for inclusive teaching and learning as well as capacity building materials to raise awareness of high school pupils &
teachers on equal access to higher education.

Erasmus+ Inclusion project started with the kick-off meeting

More than 40 professionals from Armenia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Belgium, UK and Austria met in Yerevan from December 1-2, 2016 to kick-start a new,
joint Erasmus+ Project – “Development and Implementation of Social Dimension Strategies in Armenia and Bosnia and Herzegovina through Cross-regional
Peer Learning/INCLUSION”. The meeting was held at the American University in Armenia (AUA) and gathered representatives from the fourteen members
of the project Consortium.
The INCLUSION project is coordinated by the Yerevan State Academy of Fine Arts (YSAFA) and aims to enhance the capacity of stakeholders on the field of
higher education in Armenia and BiH in contributing to the implementation of social dimension (SD) strategies through capitalizing on knowledge transfer
and cross-regional cooperation.

The kick off meeting provided an important platform for the partners to address key issues related to project implementation and administration. During
the meeting, partners also explored the status of underrepresented groups in HE in the target countries (Armenia, BiH) as well as possible fact-finding tools
which will be developed and implemented during the initial project phase. Also the project workplan was discussed and activities were highlighted for the
upcoming year.
